Multi Listing Services Gauteng North is a non-profit company of real estate agencies that work as a team, sharing their stock (listed properties for sale) as we believe "teamwork sells more houses faster". We strive, through co-operation and teamwork, always to best serve our Sellers, by concluding sales entrusted to us quickly, efficiently and at the right price. We also strive to serve buyers by offering them a wider selection of properties.

What does MLS offer?

We offer prompt service to clients buying or selling a property. Estate agents combine their service at a fixed professional fee to assist sellers in selling their property in the shortest possible time and at the right price. We offer buyers a wider range of homes to choose from.

 

How can MLS assist you - the seller?

Because your home will be listed on MLS, all MLS registered agencies will know that your property is for sale and they will be able to help your agent sell your house by bringing more potential buyers to you, increasing your chances of selling more quickly and at the right price.

 

How can you have your home listed on MLS?

If you would like to sell your home fast and at the right price, you should ensure that the agent is a member of the MLS Group. You must then ask your agent to multi-list your home immediately, to get the advantage of the combined efforts of registered agents, and to have your home advertised on the Internet where you are ensured of the best marketing.

 

How does MLS work?

Your agent will put the details of the house which is for sale on the MLS network and arrange an “open hour”, which is like a show day but is held during the week and is for MLS agents to view your home and give an estimate on the expected selling price. You now not only have the price you can expect buyers to offer for your home, but you also have a vast range of registered agents with first-hand knowledge of your home, which they can take to their buyers.

 

What will the MLS service cost?

The agents who list and sells your home will share a fixed commission with one another after the property is sold and registered. You get more service at no extra cost. By dealing with an MLS agent, you get the combined professional service and advice of a group of professional agents.

We strive, through co-operation and teamwork, always to best serve our Sellers, by concluding sales entrusted to us quickly, efficiently and at the right price. We also strive to serve buyers by offering them a wider selection of properties.

 

Facts about MLS and its members -

  • Members pay a once-off joining fee, followed by a monthly membership fee;

  • Property Practitioners (agents) employed by the member firms attend an induction training course to familiarize themselves with MLS protocols;

  • Agents are duly qualified and compliant with industry regulations;

  • Stock and professional fees are shared between listing & selling agents, making it possible for both agents to earn professional fees;

  • New board members were appointed to the Board last year with positive results;

  • Our membership presently comprises of 30 member agencies with 107 agents in the Northwest area;

  • and 39 member agencies with 130 agents in the Northeast area;

  • Agents enter into exclusive group mandates to sell with property owners for a set period at an agreed purchase price and professional fee;

  • Weekly open hours are attended by agents to view newly listed properties in the area;

  • All agents may advertise properties for sale on Property24, and the like;

  • Monthly zone meetings are held in both regions where the "stock list" is discussed and the status of the properties made known to all (available, sold, sold pending cash/loan etc);

  • Members are kept in the loop regarding the latest developments in the industry/the market (mortgagers included).

  • Agents can be positively identified by our annual membership card issued at the beginning of each year. The card indicates the agent's credentials and FFC (Fidelity Fund Certificate) number. A copy of the FFC is printed on the back of the membership card. Should clients be in doubt, our administration office can verify membership.
