Who we are

MLSGN (Multi Listing Services Gauteng North) is a non-profit association of real estate agencies which work as a team, sharing their stock (listed properties for sale) as we believe "teamwork sells more houses faster". We strive, through co-operation and teamwork, always to best serve our Sellers, by concluding sales entrusted to us quickly, efficiently and at the right price. We also strive to serve buyers by offering them a wider selection of properties.

Facts about MLS and its members -

  • Members pay a once-off joining fee, followed by a monthly membership fee;
  • Property Practitioners (agents) employed by the member firms attend an induction training course to familiarize themselves with MLS protocols;
  • Agents are duly qualified and compliant with industry regulations;
  • Stock and professional fees are shared between listing & selling agents, making it possible for both agents to earn professional fees;
  • New board members were appointed to the Board last year with positive results;
  • Our membership presently comprises of 30 member agencies with 107 agents in the Northwest area; and 39 member agencies with 130 agents in the Northeast area;
  • Agents enter into exclusive group mandates to sell with property owners for a set period at an agreed purchase price and professional fee;
  • Weekly open hours are attended by agents to view newly listed properties in the area;
  • All agents may advertise properties for sale on Property24, and the like;
  • Monthly zone meetings are held in both regions where the "stock list" is discussed and status of the properties made known to all (available, sold, sold pending cash/loan etc);
  • Members are kept in the loop regarding latest developments in the industry/the market (mortgagers included).
